Getting to know Farhad Ghodsi

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in psychotherapy for adult/elder individuals and couples. I’ve had the privilege of working within various multidisciplinary teams providing psychotherapy for over a decade. This work has enabled me to develop my therapeutic skills and expand on personal attributes vital to the therapeutic processes. I’m passionate, committed to work with people toward their goals, to heal emotional wounds, to achieve more clarity while allowing for growth and improving lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

We'll start with a brief free phone or zoom session so that I can get a sense of the kind of support you are looking for and also use this time to answer any questions that you might have. If it feels like we are a good fit for working together, we will schedule our first session. Our first session will involve an assessment to see what your needs are. By the end of the session, we will have an idea of a general plan for treatment. Typically, we would be meeting once a week. We will work together to establish your therapy goals, and we will continue to modify and adjust our treatment approach as needed. We will also track your progress periodically to assure we're achieving your goals.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Mr Ghodsi has been a very helpful therapist for me. He is actually ALL of the above: he is authentic, solution-oriented, humorous and warm, smart and challenging (just enough, not too much), offers suggestions and gently follows up on them and is very open-minded. The one thing he won't do is let you feel sorry for yourself: compassion yes, victim mentality, no.
Farhad has been very supportive and empowering in our sessions. In addition, he has given me specific advice on what to do until the next session.
