“He is very good I would suggest to break the ice at the beginning. Now I feel more comfortable. Sometimes therapist look around and it is because you are reading stuff and tools that help to the session (i am a therapist myself). It is important to share that with the client. Because sometimes you don't know if they are really listening or not”

Getting to know Francesco Pisano

Born and raised in Italy, I received my bachelor's degree in clinical psychology from Sapienza University of Rome and a master's in marriage and family therapy from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. My experience includes working in school settings, with the Department of Family Services in mental health assessment and case management, and in community mental health with minorities, providing individual, group, family, and couples therapy in English and Spanish. I received extensive training in working with the 0-5 population. I am trained in EMDR, accelerated resolution therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and child-parent psychotherapy (0-5 years old). I am also certified in parent-child interaction therapy (2-7 years old) from UC Davis, Seeking Safety, and trauma-focused CBT, and level 2 trained in the Gottman Method. I work collaboratively with clients to ensure all their needs are met while considering their cultural diversity and intergenerational/systemic trauma, using a trauma-informed and attachment approach. I am a firm believer in the use of therapy as an instrument of change for the individual and society as a whole.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I usually start with an intake to assess what are the needs and discuss options, along with creating collaborative goals for treatment. Based on the information and the assessment we will start working on what are the most pressing issues reported by client. A standard session consist in a check in, review assignments if any, support client in setting up the agenda for the session, review/practice, summarize, assignments and check out. Unless I use more structured approaches, then I follow their structure.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
