Frankee Carlin, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Frankee! Hellerrr, I am an LMFT (#150114), I have been a therapist since 2016, graduated from USF in 2017. I have worked in a variety of settings with a diverse group of clients across race, ethnicity, class, gender identity, and sexual orientation. In May, 2026 I went full time in my own private practice, an exciting next step for me. My focus I work best with folks who've been labeled outcast, weird, and/or radical; including and not limited to neurodivergent folks, LGBTQIA+ (trans, non-binary, queer, kink and sex-worker allied), and people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, relationship issues, and/or mild substance use. My approach I firmly believe life is hard and that American capitalist/colonialist society does little to give people the tools to thrive. As a mindfulness based therapist, we'll bring what's going on into awareness, identify what values are underneath it, and look at how family and cultural systems shape your perspective. My communication style I am inquisitive, warm, and humorous, non-judgmental, and direct. I'll ask a lot of questions, name what I'm noticing, identify patterns, explore possible coping strategies, and explain clinical processes where necessary. My journey to mental healthcare I am the cliche: therapists get into this work to fix themselves. I have adhd, cptsd, depression, anxiety, and am probably on the autism spectrum. Having had a lot of bad life experience, much of the processes and interventions I use are gathered from real life experience, client perspective, and clinical training. My goals for you We set concrete goals in the second session. Then we figure out what shifts (if any) need to be made to increase benefit and reduce harm in your daily life, adjusting the plan as things change. Progress over perfection, ease over a cure. What works for you matters here.
