Freddie Eugene Williams, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Freddie Eugene Williams, LMFT, LAACD I am a California and Arizona Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor specializing in addictions. Self-care, self-awareness, relationships, and behavior change are key to mental wellness and recovery. I meet you where you are on your healing journey, explore your mental wellness goals, and help improve your quality of life. My approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). My focus I typically work with young adults (18-24) and adults (25-64), focusing on Substance Use Disorder, Co-Occurring Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, and Stress/Anger Management. My communication style I create sessions from a client-centered approach, supporting and partnering with clients in an environment of acceptance, understanding, and unconditional positive regard. This allows clients to freely verbalize and consider their thoughts, behaviors, and motivations for change. My journey to therapy My family was very dysfunctional. My dad was a physically and verbally abusive alcoholic who couldn't maintain employment. My mother was passive, uneducated, and unemployed. Because of my dad's alcoholism, my childhood was short-lived. At seven, I became the major breadwinner for my family of five siblings. I grew up in the streets of Los Angeles, exposed to drugs, alcohol, crime, and jails-making money to feed my family by any means necessary. That lifestyle consumed much of my childhood and adult life. Today, I am a grateful recovered alcoholic and addict with 21 years of continuous sobriety. I started as a substance abuse counselor and earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology from California Southern University to help others.
