Psychotherapist
1650 38th St, Ste 100E, Boulder, CO
Wanting change? I am a licensed professional counselor, trauma healing wilderness therapist, coach, and men's group facilitator. I hold a Master’s in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University and a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. I believe we have one life to live. My passion is helping you discover your way to live as fully and happily as possible. It is important to me that you experience progress, so I work hard with you wherever you are in your struggles. My approach is both sensitive but masculine so that you feel safe and unpressured while bravely examining your inner blocks. Together, we create action plans that help you apply your insights and get the most out of our work together. We go as deep as you feel ready to go. I welcome intensity and view all emotional impulses as borne of love. Occasionally, emotions get out of balance and out of sync with our other needs. I help you build capacity for your human liveliness and learn how to channel it so that you can be ALL of YOU right here, right now. Clients find me challenging yet unconditionally accepting of them. As a wilderness therapist, I work indoors and out, weather and client permitting. My hobbies include laughing, storytelling, friends and family, motorcycle and wilderness adventures, fishing, hunting, martial arts, building, and dancing. I'm always evolving and am currently integrating vision from a three-week Peruvian Ayahuasca retreat.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is surprisingly relaxed and authentic. Before you know it you'll be sharing stuff you weren't sure you'd be able to share with anyone because you'll feel safe enough to do so. My job is to listen, to care, and to connect above all. Those in and of themselves support much growth and healing. Only after you feel heard and seen do I begin to pose tougher questions and experiments that are designed to help you ascertain what is true for you. Based on that truth are your needs and from your needs we can design plans of action to satisfy them. If it were easy, you would have already done it. I'm here to help you through the process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Typically we do a free initial consultation (30 minutes or less) and then proceed with full sessions. The client schedules as frequently as needed to feel supported and pushed but not overwhelmed. I recommend weekly sessions at the start and then tapering off to biweekly once a foundation is established. I still see clients once or twice per year whom I have been seeing for over 8 years.
