Hi, my name is Gauri Sanchez, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m passionate about supporting my clients through the journey of life, healing, and transformation. I believe in collaboratively working with clients to enhance their self-understanding, self-love, and self-empowerment. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Sacramento, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide effective mental health support. My approach is client-centered—providing support, empathy, and unconditional positive regard along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Grief Counseling. I have experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, life challenges and transitions, relationship problems, victims of crimes, and grief. I’m passionate about creating a comfortable therapeutic partnership and providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel open and welcome to share their unique life stories. As a first-generation Latina mental health therapist, I am dedicated to reducing the stigma of mental health. I deeply understand the importance of positive support, guidance, and self-love that each individual needs to thrive and evolve on their life journey. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to identify treatment priorities and goals. Our first session will focus on building rapport—getting to know each other, understanding what helps each client feel welcome and comfortable, gaining insight into what is working and areas that need strengthening in each client’s life, and setting goals for treatment.
