Psychotherapist

Life is hard, and sometimes we need help navigating through it. Many of us have negative thoughts or beliefs that play out in our minds-some stemming from early childhood trauma, others from ourselves. I can help you get rid of those negative messages, reduce or eliminate any symptoms resulting from them, and improve your life. I believe that many of us hold beliefs or thoughts that cause distress; it doesn't matter if or when they started, what matters is that they are distressing. There is a lot of negativity out there, and it's easy to focus on that instead of the positive things you are doing. Many people need help seeing the positives they are creating and being validated for their feelings and actions. I meet each person where they are and tailor sessions with your input to best meet your needs. I am eclectic in my approach and will provide education on different trauma treatment modalities so you have the information needed to decide which treatment works best for you. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Liberty University, which has equipped me to support you effectively on your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When we first meet you can expect me to introduce myself and ask you about you and what you want to work on. The first meeting for me is about us getting to know each other, to see if you think we would be a good fit to work on your issues. A good counseling relationship is important, if you are not comfortable with me then it will not be useful to you. Each first meeting would be different for everyone based on their own needs and figure out the path to take for the upcoming sessions. I am flexible and know that as people progress in counseling their needs change and the counseling will reflect that. It is common for you to come to counseling with one issues and mind and then that opens up other issues that need to be addressed.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
