Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Gayle! Gayle Whitlock, LMFT 84009. My approach to therapy is rooted in recognizing the challenges faced by Black Women, Women of Color, and all Women navigating the intersectionality of race and culture while managing depression, anxiety, and the search for balance. I utilize an evidence-based approach alongside a willingness to call out the B.S. that gets in the way of you living your best life. Together, we will challenge societal stereotypes and generational narratives that hold you back as you forge toward authentic self-discovery. With over 60 years of life experience and a Master's in Counseling from Dominican University of California, as well as a Bachelor's from San Francisco State University, I bring both education and real-world insight to our work. Using modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions, we will uncover the roots of what's stopping you from living authentically. We'll call out the stories that have trapped you in limiting places and rewrite your narrative as you embark on a new path of healing, growth, and compassion. My goal is to support you on your journey to living your best life. I am passionate about supporting adult Black Women, Women of Color, and all Women who are tired of feeling stuck, tired of putting their needs last, and ready to face past wounds by developing the tools and mindset needed to create an authentic life. I offer a safe space to process your unique challenges with compassion and validation. I strive to create an environment where you feel heard and supported, while also holding you accountable for doing the work to create the life you want. I recognize the importance of culturally sensitive techniques and interventions and love to bring humor and playfulness when appropriate.
