Getting to know Geeta Davjani

I'm Geeta Devjani, LMFT, a bilingual and bi-cultural clinician dedicated to providing clinically and culturally sensitive outpatient mental health services to adults and children. I have experience working with clients from multi-ethnic, underserved populations who present with a range of emotional and behavioral difficulties, including post-traumatic stress responses, attachment challenges, regulatory and sensory issues, depression, and anxiety. I support individuals navigating challenging life transitions, processing traumatic experiences, and managing emotional regulation. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge. My approach is eclectic, tailored to each client's unique needs through individualized treatment planning. Techniques I use include mindfulness, trauma-informed therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, humanistic theory, and child-parent psychotherapy. I typically work with clients who have a history of childhood trauma, survivors of domestic violence, and those experiencing prepartum or postpartum depression. I provide treatment for depression, anxiety, grief and loss, communication difficulties, parenting challenges, and trauma. My communication style is positive, warm, and affirming, grounded in open and honest conversations. I offer psychoeducation to enhance clients' understanding of their issues and practice patience and tolerance, even when faced with obstacles. I engage clients through reflective listening and active participation in the therapeutic process. My journey to mental healthcare began in childhood with a strong desire to help others. I am passionate about guiding people to discover their inner potential and empowering them with the tools and skills needed to navigate personal change and challenges.
