Getting to know Gerardo Salinas
Hi there, I'm Gerardo!
My name is Gerardo Salinas. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist for over 12 years. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from San Jose State University. I have experience working with adults, youth, and families from varied life experiences and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
My approach
I offer Talk, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Art Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help resolve conflict, improve communication, and address trauma with children and adults. I focus on early attachment and developmental needs and provide parent coaching to manage challenging behaviors at school or home.

I work with a diverse group of clients, including children and adults, to find solutions to life’s challenges. I use a brief strategic approach to resolve conflict and internal struggles. I feel comfortable working with children and families and enjoy providing family therapy to resolve miscommunication. As a Latino, I have experience supporting the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community.
My communication style
I aim to provide a warm, non-judgmental, and helpful space. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and other challenges. I believe navigating these experiences feels better when shared with someone else.
My journey to mental healthcare
I enjoy helping others. I began my career as a Social Worker and Therapist after working with youth in an after-school program. I love to listen and find ways to help people feel better. I naturally find solutions to complex challenges and enjoy collaborating with clients and their families.
