Gina Carrillo-Jackman, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Gina! Hello and welcome! My name is Gina Carrillo-Jackman, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Ventura County providing therapy via Telehealth. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I work with teens and adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, and school-related issues. I am a strong believer in mindfulness, being in tune with the mind-body connection, and understanding how our thoughts and feelings influence our behavior. My approach My approach to therapy is one of collaboration in which we work together to help you identify the areas in your life that you want to change. I believe that we all have the inner strength and wisdom we need to make those changes, and I see myself as your guide to provide you the support you need during this process of self-exploration. I primarily draw upon Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral, and Psychodynamic therapies to work with you to be in touch with your mind-body connection, to explore and understand the impact your thoughts have upon your feelings and behavior, and to discover how your family history may influence your current relationships. My focus I am most comfortable working with teens, transitional-age youth, and adults dealing with stressful life events and transitions that may cause them to experience anxiety and depression. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally possessing experience working with transgender teens and the many unique challenges and changes they may face as they navigate through their transition process. My communication style My communication style is warm, open, and non-judgmental. I believe that every client deserves to have a safe, inclusive space in which they feel free to share whatever is on their mind. My journey to therapy For as long as I can remember, I have always loved connecting with others and being a source of support and hope.
