Beginning therapy is an important step, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to start this process. I’m here to support you and make sure that your time in therapy is helpful, relevant, and meaningful for your goals. In my practice, I work with clients who experience anger, frustration, anxiety, and stress on such a scale that it impacts their daily routines and their relationships with loved ones. I empower individuals to successfully transition through difficult phases of life. I am highly effective when engaging people in the process of positive change. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel understood and empowered to make positive changes. My approach I utilize a combination of Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and change patterns of behavior. Both approaches are practical, structured, and research-based. They give clients tools they can carry with them outside of sessions, so progress continues in daily life.REBT focuses on the idea that it’s not just what happens to us that creates distress, but it’s what we tell ourselves about those events. Our beliefs about a situation often fuel the intensity of our emotions. In REBT, clients learn how to pause and assess those beliefs before letting them take control. By slowing down, you may realize that the belief you’re holding is too rigid or extreme. You can then begin to replace it with something more balanced.CBT also emphasizes the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, but it focuses strongly on recognizing patterns over time. Clients become observers of their own minds, almost like detectives collecting clues. CBT also emphasizes behavior. It’s not only about changing thoughts, it’s about practicing new skills. This might mean creating a study plan, practicing relaxation techniques, or problem-solving a conflict with a friend. REBT and CBT complement one another.
