My approach My approach is one of collaboration and is focused on your needs and how I can help you achieve your goals. My focus If you have been experiencing difficulties in day-to-day life, you are not alone. Many of us struggle at different times in our lives. I want to focus on your unique situation and help you identify your coping skills as well as assist you in developing additional supports. My goal is to provide a safe space so that you can share your struggles with me and know that, without judgment, it will be my mission to walk along with you through your journey. My communication style In order for our helping relationship to have the best communication I will provide direct, calm and consistent feedback. I will ask clarifying questions as needed and welcome you to do the same with me. I will be kind in my responses to you and will encourage you to practice positive self talk. Direct communication should be seen as a productive problem solving technique. My journey to mental healthcare My life has involved its own ups and downs as anyone's does. My experiences with infertility, adoption, and parenthood have helped me understand that resilience is something that is extremely valuable for our mental health. My desire to become a therapist comes from my belief that we all have times where we need an understanding ear and a helping hand. I want to be that for others. Everyone is worthy of respect and dignity and that concept is critical in my practice.
