Grace Ofosua Peprah, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, my name is Grace Peprah. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, committed to helping individuals and couples learn how to cope with life challenges. My work focuses on targeting unhealthy thinking patterns. My approach I collaborate with my clients to develop relevant and realistic goals. The common theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive, Behavioral, and Client-Centered. My focus I typically work with adolescents, adults, and couples. I am most comfortable treating individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, and grief, as well as couples experiencing relational issues. My communication style I create a safe and trusting environment for my clients—one that is nonjudgmental and encourages open communication. I am easy to talk to and refrain from giving personal opinions, instead using reflective listening. My journey to therapy As an African-born therapist, I bring a valuable cultural perspective that helps me understand how culture influences our daily lives. What attracted me to therapy was the passion I cultivated over the years to help people understand themselves psychologically. I believe people can change their behaviors, thinking patterns, and cognitive distortions when given the right tools and skills. My goals for you I like to use SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Bound) goals with my clients because I believe this approach makes goal setting realistic and achievable. My first session with you During our first session, you can expect a relaxed environment as we work to build rapport and establish a foundation for our work together.
