Gregg Moore, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Gregg! Hi! My name is Gregg Moore, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist, born and raised on the East Coast. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Susquehanna University and my Master's in Social Work from Syracuse University. Now, my partner and I live in San Francisco with our two dogs, Walter and Lucy. We have found a new home in California, a place we've grown to love and plan to stay long-term. My approach I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR, with a strong personal attachment to Buddhist teachings and wisdom. I use a trauma-informed approach and work closely with clients dealing with co-occurring disorders, including addictions and mental health challenges. My sessions are exclusively video-based, using a HIPAA-compliant, confidential therapy platform. My focus I approach therapy from a partnership perspective, encouraging clients to create a pathway to personal acceptance and healing that makes sense to them and that they can own. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, and EMDR. I work well with clients carrying trauma, mental health diagnoses, and addictions. My communication style I create a safe but casual tone in each session to make this work feel effortless, with a sense of curiosity and self-discovery. I normalize some clients' life experiences so they can see how others experience similar things. The result, I hope, is for clients to feel less isolated and more part of the human experience. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to become a therapist started early, having a mother with significant mental health issues. Like many, I thought if she tried harder, she could be happy or less anxious. I discovered she was trying-really trying-but nothing was working. My mother died early, and a year later, I found myself back in college pursuing my master's to do psychotherapy.
