Gretchen Rydin, LCSW

Psychotherapist
10 Inverness Dr E, #225, Englewood, CO
Hello, I'm Gretchen. My role is to help you become who you want to be. Through the course of our work together, my hope is for you to experience more connection, courage, and compassion with yourself and in your relationships with others. You’ll notice immediate changes in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as we work through old—and new—wounds. I hold a license in clinical social work (LCSW) and a license in addiction counseling (LAC). In 2018, I received my Master’s in Social Work from Howard University in Washington, D.C., a Historically Black College. Prior to clinical social work, I spent ten years in public policy, advocacy, and human rights. Currently, I serve on the City Council in Littleton. I also play the violin and viola and am a member of the Denver Pops Orchestra. I treat adolescents and adults using a combination of skills training—cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)—and Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS). Why skills? Skills are specific and actionable—something you can cling to when life seems out of control. Why IFS? I want all parts of you—the anxious, the sad, the scared, the perfectionist, the addicted, etc.—to feel heard and understood so that you can live the life you want to live without being consumed by those parts. Many of us have traumatized parts that may benefit from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a form of specialized trauma therapy that I provide when appropriate. In working with couples, I utilize the Gottman Method, which helps build communication skills and intimacy, as well as respect and affection. If you're ready to start this journey towards a more connected and courageous life, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's work together to help you live the life you want to live.
