Psychotherapist

Living as your authentic self can sometimes be a struggle between who you expect to be and who others expect you to be. Changing habits is often difficult, but I want you to know that you have the ability to start over and become the best version of yourself. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist, I use a holistic approach to support clients in meeting their behavioral health goals. I enjoy working with clients who “just need a place to vent” as well as individuals experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress management, substance use, and grief. I began training as a psychotherapist six years ago and have since worked with diverse and vulnerable populations in social services and healthcare settings. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a Bachelor’s degree from National Louis University. My interests include LGBTQ+ and HIV care, substance use disorders, and solution-focused therapy. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, dancing, and binge-watching Netflix documentaries.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy should always be client-centered and you I will find that I am a great listener. After the first session, we will begin working on your defined objectives and will practice relaxation techniques as needed. I will practice behavioral health interventions with you while in session so that you feel comfortable practicing interventions on your own time. Because most of the change happens outside of therapy, sometimes you will have homework where you will apply the interventions learned in therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
