Psychotherapist
NJ
Hailey Zanes is a licensed social worker currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is Destiny Supportive Services. Hailey earned a Bachelor’s degree from The New School and a Master’s in Social Work from Tulane University. I’ve always been drawn to the complexities of the human experience—especially the parts we don’t always talk about. My journey as a therapist has been shaped by my deep respect for the human spirit and its resiliency. I’ve worked with people in some really intense roles—like first responders and caregivers—who often carry more than most people realize. But I also know that no matter what role you’re in, everyone deserves space to unload, heal, and find peace. I believe in the power of creativity to heal—whether it's through art, music, or just free expression. I’ve seen how powerful it can be to tap into that creative side when words don’t quite cut it. It’s all about finding what works for you to get things out, explore your feelings, and get back to feeling like yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

So, what can you expect in therapy with me? First off, no two sessions are the same. Somedays you’ll feel like you need to talk through a specific issue, and other days you might just want to unload everything that’s been building up. And that’s completely okay. I’m here to listen to whatever is going on with you, no matter how big or small it seems. I want you to feel seen, heard, and respected in every single session. I get that life is complicated, and I know it’s not always easy to open up. But I also know that true change starts when we give ourselves the space to be vulnerable, to acknowledge what we’ve been carrying, and to begin moving through it. I’m here to help you with that every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we first start working together, I just want to hear your story—what’s been going on, what brought you in, and what you're hoping to work on. There’s no pressure to dive into everything all at once. We’ll just chat, take it slow, and figure out where you’re at. My goal is for you to feel comfortable and heard right from the start. In terms of how we’ll actually work together, each session will look a little different. Some days we’ll talk through challenges you’re facing, maybe unpack some tough emotions or experiences. Other times, we might explore creative ways to express what’s going on, like through art or writing—whatever feels like the right fit for you. No matter what, the goal is to give you a space to relax, reflect, and get clearer about what you need moving forward.
