Getting to know Hajrah Javed

Wait!! Before you send that "I'm fine" text, let's talk about it. You just went through a breakup, can't stop thinking about your ex? Or you keep ending up in the same situationship wondering how you got here again? This is the space for that. All of it. The 2am spiral. The screenshot you want to send. The "I'm over it" you're saying out loud but definitely don't mean.I work with women and young adults who are navigating the messy, emotional, deeply human experience of relationships — falling into them, falling out of them, and figuring out who they are in between. That includes breakups, healing after toxic relationships, learning to date again without losing yourself, setting boundaries with people you still love, and untangling why you keep choosing the same person in a different body. I'm a licensed therapist in Texas specializing in breakup recovery, relationship patterns, and dating anxiety for women and young adults virtually across the state. If you're in the thick of healing after a toxic relationship, trying to understand your attachment style, or figuring out how to start dating again without losing yourself, this is exactly where that work happens. Growing up South Asian and Muslim, I know firsthand what it's like to navigate love and relationships while also managing family expectations, cultural pressure, and the feeling that your emotions don't quite fit the script you were handed. You don't have to shrink any of that here.I'm not going to hand you a list of affirmations and send you on your way. We're going to get into the real stuff — the patterns, the attachment wounds, the stories you've been telling yourself about what you deserve — and actually work through them. The provider is supervised by Parthi B. Patel.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I will never get tired of hearing about your ex. Seriously. You can bring the full timeline — the good phase, the almost-worked-out phase, the "why did I text back" phase — and I won't check the clock or change the subject. What most people call "obsessing" is usually just grief that hasn't had anywhere to go. We're going to give it somewhere to go. Here's what relationship therapy with me actually looks like: - I'm not a silent nodder. I'm in the conversation with you — asking real questions, offering honest perspectives, and yes, lovingly calling you out when you're letting someone treat you like an option. I won't just tell you to delete their number. We'll figure out why it's hard to, first — because that's where the real healing from heartbreak starts. - I normalize everything. The checking of their Instagram. The hope after one nice text. The anxious attachment spiral after someone scrambled your trust. You're not crazy — you're someone who loved someone, and that's complicated. - We build practical skills, not just insight — how to stop over-explaining yourself, how to communicate needs without shutting down, how to set boundaries in relationships without guilt, and how to trust your gut again after it's been burned. You're freshly out of something painful, stuck in on-again-off-again relationship cycles, navigating codependency, or just tired of repeating the same patterns with different people — you're in the right place.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First session — we start wherever you are. If the breakup was last week, we start there. If it was two years ago and you're still not over it, we start there too — no judgment on the timeline. This session is about understanding your story, your relationship history, and what feeling better actually looks like for you. No polished version required. Sessions 2–4 — identifying the patterns. This is where we move from what happened to why it keeps happening. We explore your attachment style (anxious, avoidant, or somewhere in between), the dynamics that feel magnetic even when they're not healthy, and the deeper beliefs driving your relationship choices. This is where things start to make sense. Ongoing work — where real change happens. What you'll walk away with: - Clarity on what happened — and why you don't need to keep replaying it - A real understanding of your attachment style and how it shows up in dating and relationships - Tools for communicating in relationships without shutting down, over-explaining, or spiraling - Confidence to re-enter the dating world — or to be alone — without the panic - Skills for setting boundaries, recognizing red flags early, and trusting yourself again You don't have to keep processing this in your group chat at midnight. There's a whole hour every week that belongs entirely to this and to you.
