Getting to know Hajrah Javed

I help women who are exhausted from people-pleasing, doubting their worth, or losing themselves in relationships, whether romantic, platonic, or familial. Maybe you're the friend who's afraid to set a boundary, the daughter still chasing approval, or the partner who's stopped being honest because keeping the peace feels safer than being fully yourself. I help you build real self-esteem and confidence, not just coping skills. I also work with body image struggles, especially for those who grew up measuring themselves against beauty standards that were never built for them. My goal is to help you catch these patterns before resentment builds, so you can show up as your full self in every relationship in your life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative — I'll never make you feel like you're being diagnosed or fixed. Many of my clients come in feeling like something is "wrong" with them because they're anxious in relationships, exhausted from over-giving, or stuck managing everyone else's needs before their own. Together, we work to understand where those patterns came from and build genuine confidence from the inside out. I bring a cultural lens to sessions that's especially attuned to the pressures of being a woman navigating family expectations, friendships, and self-worth within — and sometimes against — cultural or family norms. You can expect sessions that feel more like an honest conversation than a clinical appointment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first few sessions, I focus on understanding your full story — your relationship history across romantic, family, and friend dynamics, and the patterns you keep noticing in yourself. From there, we identify the specific beliefs driving self-doubt, people-pleasing, or difficulty setting boundaries, and work through them using a mix of talk therapy and practical tools you can use between sessions. If you're trying to repair a relationship or just tired of playing the same role over and over, we build concrete communication and boundary-setting skills you can use in real time.
