Haley Rykard, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in rural southwest Georgia, providing services statewide via Telehealth. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Valdosta State University. I focus on a person-centered approach to meet clients where they are in their journey to mental health wellness. Throughout my career, I have treated a variety of mental health and substance abuse disorders, but my current practice centers on helping clients with anxiety, depression, and substance abuse disorders. My approach I believe every patient has a unique experience with mental health, so I utilize an eclectic therapy approach. This allows me to provide flexible care by combining multiple therapy techniques tailored to each client's needs. I incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My communication style I have a warm, supportive, and empathetic communication style. I focus on active listening and strive to develop a strong rapport with every client I treat. My journey to mental healthcare My passion for mental health began during my very first Psychology 1101 class in college. I had a wonderful professor who was an LPC and shared her experiences as a therapist. I quickly realized I wanted to break the stigma surrounding mental health and provide clients with a safe, supportive environment to address their concerns. I firmly believe that if you have a brain, you have mental health, and it deserves care just like any other part of your body. Personal experience has also motivated me to be the therapist I would want for myself, my family, and loved ones to help navigate life's ups and downs. My goals for you I like to be solution-focused and guide clients toward meaningful progress in their mental health journey.
