Psychotherapist
800 E Cypress Crk Rd, Ste 431, Fort Lauderdale, FL
I’m passionate about supporting clients who feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of what comes next. You may be recovering from an unhealthy or abusive relationship, feeling drained by work, navigating a major life change, or noticing family patterns you want to change. You may also be making sense of an ADHD or autism diagnosis received later in life and reconsidering experiences that once left you feeling misunderstood. My approach starts with understanding you—your experiences, your culture, your relationships, and what matters to you. Together, we can explore how the ways you learned to get through difficult situations may be affecting your life today. Your strengths and choices help guide our work as you move toward a life that feels more like your own.

Getting to know Haniel Tracey

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, collaborative, and practical. You can expect space to speak honestly without feeling judged or pressured to share more than you are ready to discuss. We’ll work at a pace that allows you to feel heard while making room for meaningful change. Sometimes that means looking at the story you tell yourself. If you often think, “I’m too sensitive,” “I should be able to handle this,” or “I always let people down,” we can explore where those beliefs came from and whether they reflect who you are today. Other times, we’ll focus on everyday situations: how to say no without a long explanation, communicate what you need, manage intense feelings, or respond differently when a familiar conflict comes up. We can practice these skills together so they feel more useful outside of therapy. You have a voice in what we focus on. I welcome feedback about what feels helpful, what feels uncomfortable, and what you would like to approach differently.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first visit, we’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been difficult lately, and what you hope will change. I’ll ask questions to get to know you, and you’ll have time to ask questions, too. You don’t need to prepare a speech or tell your whole life story at once. Later sessions usually begin with a check-in about how you’ve been feeling and what has happened since we last met. From there, we’ll choose something that needs attention—perhaps a difficult conversation, a stressful week at work, a relationship concern, or a feeling you haven’t been able to shake. We may spend time making sense of an experience, noticing what happens before you feel overwhelmed, or practicing how you want to handle an upcoming situation. Some sessions may involve more reflection; others may focus on a specific next step. Before we finish, we’ll review what stood out and, when helpful, choose something small to try or notice during the week. You can arrive upset, uncertain, or unsure where to begin. We can start there together.
