Psychotherapist

Deciding to start therapy can be a confusing and sometimes stressful experience. Congratulations on taking the first step. For whatever reason you've decided to begin this journey, I believe that therapy helps people gain insight and awareness, as well as develop better coping skills and symptom management. Rather than superficially treating the problem through quick-fixes, I work collaboratively with my clients to address the underlying issue. My goal is to establish a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients can feel comfortable to work through past trauma, life changes, and/or emotional roadblocks. My approach I believe that therapy is a collaborative process in which I see myself as part of a team, along with my client, to address the problem at hand. Since I only see my clients for one therapy hour each week, it takes a team-based approach to make any significant progress. I strive to establish therapeutic goals that incorporate treatment interventions and modalities that are tailored specifically to each client, drawing from an Eclectic approach, whether it is utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Solution-Focused, Relational, Attachment-Based, etc. Since the foundation of my work stems from a strengths-based perspective, I believe in empowering my clients to build self-confidence and self-mastery skills, with the ultimate goal of no longer needing therapy and becoming independent with the skills needed to go on with their lives. My focus The majority of my career has been focused on community-based mental health services as a therapist, supervisor, and in management. My work has primarily focused on those dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting issues, relationship and/or family issues, and adjustment issues to various work or life transitions. I enjoy working with clients ready for self-awareness, open discussion, and a willingness for change.
