Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Heather! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I help teens and adults navigate challenges related to addiction, stress, and life transitions through practical, down-to-earth counseling. My goal is to create a space where growth feels possible and progress feels real. My approach My approach to counseling is collaborative and supportive. I focus on meeting you where you are—helping you build insight, strengthen coping skills, and make changes at a pace that feels realistic. Sessions are conversational and focused on what’s actually happening in your life, so you leave each one with tools you can use right away. My focus My ideal clients are teens and adults who feel stuck—whether it’s in addiction, recovery, or a difficult life transition. You may be tired of repeating the same patterns or struggling to rebuild trust with yourself and others. I help you identify what’s getting in the way, learn healthy ways to cope, and rebuild a sense of confidence and direction one step at a time. My communication style In sessions, my style is calm, genuine, and straightforward. I communicate with honesty and compassion, helping you feel heard while also challenging you to grow. You can expect a balanced mix of empathy, accountability, and real conversation—not clinical jargon. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into counseling began during my years as a middle school teacher. I saw firsthand how many kids were struggling with emotions, family challenges, and pressures they didn’t know how to handle. It became clear that what they needed most wasn’t just academic support—it was someone to listen, guide, and help them build the tools to cope and grow. That experience inspired me to become a counselor so I could focus on supporting mental and emotional health more directly. My goals for you I believe treatment goals should be realistic and meaningful to you—not just words on paper.
