Getting to know Heather Thomas

I am trained in depth psychology and my specialties are trauma-informed care, emotional dysregulation, attachment wounds, stress, anxiety and depression. I offer skills to handle distress, grief, change and discomfort in your own body and life. I strive to treat everyone with unconditional positive regard. I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with my BS in social science and received my MA in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I have worked in a variety of settings and enjoy working with individuals, couples and families. You are enough. You matter to me. I would love the honor of collaborating with you to unlock your full potential and bring joy, peace and contentment to your life. I strive to be authentic and transparent and I meet you where you’re at. Let’s observe, without judgment, what’s working and what’s not and work together to bring you back to your true self.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session together, I will strive to provide a safe, welcoming space where you will always be treated with unconditional positive regard. Please feel free to ask me any questions about how therapy works and we will create a treatment plan that works best for you. I am person-centered and solution-focused and we will work together, using a variety of modalities, to help you have a life worth living. I will support and validate you and encourage you to tell me what's working and what's not. Our sessions are about you.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
