“Heidi has a very calm, kind, pleasant and warm demeanor, which I really appreciate. She's great at keeping track of the details of my rather chaotic life and consistently remembers to follow up about things we have addressed even if I don't. She is solution oriented, easy to talk with, and challenges my thinking without ever making me feel judged. I feel totally comfortable sharing difficult and personal issues that I usually keep private with her, whether its work stress, managing ADHD or famil”

Getting to know Heidi Grafton

Do you find yourself feeling irritable or moody? Do you feel overwhelmed by daily expectations and responsibilities? These feelings can be signs of depression and/or anxiety. I am here to help you navigate these difficult emotions. Together, we can work to build your self-confidence and improve your life. Often, it can be hard to know where to start, so I teach strategies to help manage your symptoms effectively. I have experience supporting clients in building and maintaining relationships, finding purpose or meaning in life, and coping with grief and trauma. Additionally, if you are struggling with infertility, miscarriage or loss, or postpartum depression, this is my specialty. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University. With over 19 years of experience in child welfare, healthcare, maternal child health, postpartum, antepartum, neonatal care, addiction medicine, and school/behavioral issues, I bring a broad and compassionate perspective to my work. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space grounded in respect, compassion, empathy, hope, and a bit of humor.

What should a new client know about working with you?

"As a LCSW I enjoy helping others recognize their strengths to make changes that improve overall daily functioning. My role is to listen, explore past experiences that impact coping today, teach new skills, challenge unhealthy thought patterns, and guide individuals to set goals to help better manage life. I strive to help clients identify their own ability to take back control of their life. I use the first session to allow my clients to share what led them to therapy. There is often a lot of stress and anxiety associated with the first session. I have a relaxed approach to this first session. I like to build a rapport during this session, review confidentiality, fees, scheduling, and any other logistics. "

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

It’s Been a pleasure to work with her
Heidi has helped me get through the loss of my daughter. I am not sure that I would be here, or at least functioning, without her help and support.
Heidi is very easy to talk to and the first therapist for me that actually gives me different ways to control the areas in my life I’m struggling with.
Heidi has been my biggest supporter through all of life's struggles and challenges. From then highs of the biggest promotion in my career to my Mom ending up in the ICU, Heidi has been by side and I don't know where I'd be without her and her wonderful support and guidance.
Heidi is very supportive and solution oriented. She is honest and very intelligent but I also believe she has great passion for her job and great care for patients.
