Heidi Kulicke, LCSW

Psychotherapist
VA
Hi there, I'm Heidi! Hello! My name is Heidi, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from The University of Utah. During my career as a therapist, I have worked with a variety of clients across the lifespan. I currently work with adults, focusing on anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, relationship issues, stress, burnout, and women's issues. My primary goal is to build trust and a strong alliance with clients to assist them in the process of change. My approach My approach is always strength-based and client-centered. No one therapeutic modality fits all. I believe a foundation of trust and true connection is key to a strong therapeutic relationship. That said, I often pull from CBT (cognitive behavioral), ACT (acceptance and commitment), and Solution-focused therapy practices, as well as Attachment Theory and Family System approaches. I provide active listening, support, and empathy while encouraging my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings openly. I meet clients where they are and emphasize treatment goals and objectives to help us stay on track. My focus I typically work with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, parenting issues, work stress, burnout, imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or family conflict. I work well with clients who are motivated to change and come to sessions prepared to address specific issues. My communication style I strive to create a warm and caring atmosphere where clients feel relaxed, safe, and supported. I aim to help clients feel comfortable and secure. My goal is to build rapport through active listening, where each client feels heard, respected, and valued. This supportive atmosphere is important to assist clients in developing coping strategies, building resilience, and navigating challenges. Over time, I may challenge clients who are stuck in patterns of negative thinking to help them see things from a more realistic perspective.
