Hi there, I'm Helen!
I am Helen, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with a Master’s in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University. I use a person-centered approach to therapy, meeting you where you are with your mental health. My goal is to help you find a sense of hope and well-being in our sessions together.
My approach
As your therapist, I provide a safe, open-minded, and judgment-free space. I use an eclectic mix of modalities during treatment, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Coaching, and the Rogerian approach, along with other techniques I believe will best support you.
My focus
With experience in community mental health, I have worked with a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, anger management, divorce, relationship issues, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking. This background has given me a strong foundation to help those facing mental health challenges.
My communication style
I create an environment that feels warm, safe, and free of judgment. I hold space for whatever feelings you bring—whether that means sharing laughs and humor or tears and tissues. I support you in releasing, processing, and understanding your emotions. I strive to instill hope when you feel down and celebrate your successes with you. I am here to support your well-being every step of the way.
My journey to therapy
When my marriage ended, I felt hopeless and defeated. That was when I first experienced therapy. I had a wonderful therapist whom I grew to trust, and who helped me rebuild my life. Inspired by that experience, I chose to become a therapist myself so I could help others find hope and well-being. Life is not meant to be lived alone—we all need community and support.
