Getting to know Henryetta Bergstresser

I have been a therapist for since 2012. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a second career for me, although I worked in the field of mental health for almost 17 years before getting my license. I chose an LCSW over an MFT because I wanted a more holistic view of treatment. Social Work considers individual mental health through the lens of the person's environment, social connections, access to resources, financial circumstances., and the like. In my experience, these factors are often a significant part of the struggle. In addition to whatever our primary need is, our world also affects our mental health. These considerations are part of our treatment approach. I Mental Health Clinician at Humboldt County Behavioral Health in Eureka, CA. Our focus population was composed of our most critically mentally ill and underserved community members. Many of our clients also had Substance Use Disorder, requiring me to have further training and certification in working with Dual Diagnosis treatment. My years working at the county, in both outpatient and inpatient services, provide a depth and breadth of experience that is hard to acquire elsewhere. Without exception the most challenging cases brought the most satisfaction and professional growth. Therapy is a team effort. Collaboration, discussion, and experimentation with treatment modalities are a few of the ways my clients and I are able to grow our therapeutic alliance. I see therapy as something exciting, with lots of opportunity to learn and incorporate new information and experiences. Progress is achieved only if both the client and the therapist put in the work and share the load. Your healing journey may be a difficult one, but not impossible. It is an honor to be part of this journey with you.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
