Hi there, I'm Herbert! My name is Herbert Wright, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Counseling from National University. I specialize in Humanistic/Existential, CBT, Object Relations, Solution Focused, and Structural Family Therapy. My approach I prefer a Humanistic approach to therapy. My focus I have worked with various clients facing issues such as substance abuse, sexual abuse, schizophrenia, grief and loss, abandonment, isolation, borderline personality disorder, nightmares, insomnia, suicide, at-risk youth, open Department of Children and Family Services cases, probation, court-ordered therapy, family reunification, career planning, coaching, spiritual, trauma, and religious issues. My communication style I build rapport by asking questions that help develop the relationship. I practice active listening, provide positive feedback, and show empathy to engage the person fully. My journey to mental healthcare I have taught school and worked with at-risk children and families during the reunification process, which has given me a deeper understanding of the family unit. My goals for you I tend to meet clients where they are and allow them to determine their own goals, providing assistance as needed. My first session with you I usually begin by asking questions that the person feels comfortable answering.
