What should a new client know about working with you?

I like to start off by letting potential clients know that I am a behavior-based therapist and I focus on recognizing unhelpful patterns and use role rehearsal and behavior modification to change those patterns. In order to increase effectiveness, I utilize creativity and curiosity to help build awareness using music, art, video games, etc. Therapy can be hard but my goal is to help you feel a range of emotions that assist in creating balance in yourself and your life. If you are struggling with intense emotions and physical symptoms ART is helpful in reducing your distress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I always start of with ensuring each individual is educated in what is happening related to their mental health as well as the treatment approaches that are being utilized. I than focus on building insight and self-awareness into the patterns that may be causing issues and creating a plan to utilize values to change out the unhelpful behaviors with more effective. The start of each session is for the client to share how they have been and to discuss any current problems. The session than moves into discussions and activities based on the individual treatment goals.
