"Hello, I'm Imani. I have been working in Mental Health for over 10 years, and I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their unique journeys towards healing and personal growth. I graduated from the illustrious Fort Valley State University with a bachelor’s in psychology in 2013 and a master’s in Mental Health Counseling in 2016. My career began with providing in-home counseling for children, adolescents, and their families as part of an Intensive Family Intervention team. This experience was profoundly impactful and set the foundation for my approach to therapy—one that is rooted in respect, sensitivity, and compassion for every individual I work with. I then transitioned to the Department of Family and Children Services, where I served as a Child Protective Services Case Manager, responding to reports of child abuse and neglect. This role deepened my understanding of trauma and the importance of a supportive therapeutic environment. Following this, I worked at an inpatient psychiatric facility specializing in eating disorders, where I ensured continuity of care and facilitated admissions into all levels of care. For the past four years, I have worked closely with the incarcerated population of Fulton County, assisting clients with transitioning into the community and reducing recidivism in the city of Atlanta. My diverse experiences have equipped me to help clients with a range of issues, including stress and anxiety, family conflicts, substance use, trauma, abuse, domestic violence, and anger management. I am also a Certified Addiction Specialist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I believe in the power of tailored therapy, where our dialogue and treatment plan are customized to meet your unique and specific needs. I have experience working with teens ages 13 to 19 and the LGBTQ+ community, and I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all my clients.
