Hi there! I am a 1st Generation Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an immigrant daughter, born and raised in Ventura County, California. My parents came from the state of Michoacan, Mexico, when they were in their late teen years. They met here in the United States, fell in love, and conceived five daughters. My parents taught me a lot about community and giving back to others in need, even though at times it felt like we were the ones in need. Nonetheless, I inherited a helper and healer's DNA. Growing up in an environment where it was ingrained for us to care for others, I decided early on in my teen years that I wanted to study psychology. It fascinated me how much I learned on my own about human behavior just by observing others. As it turns out, this came from an internal need to learn more about myself and my behaviors. I earned my Master's in Social Work from California State University, Northridge, where I deepened my understanding through an intersectionality lens. Through my journey in therapy, I also learned about the balance I needed between caring for others and caring for myself. Not only that, but I was able to hone in more on who I am as a person and what I want for my future self by shedding familial and societal pressures. For this reason, I have established a strong passion for working with 1st Generation young adults striving to reconnect with their true intentions and life ideals. I use an eclectic approach to therapy to support individuals in rediscovering themselves and reconnecting with their roots. I focus on supporting others through changes and life transitions, depression and anxiety related to childhood trauma and symptoms of ADHD, women's health and its impact on mental health, and relationship challenges. I began my career in mental health through the non-profit/community-based sector, so I have a “whatever it takes” approach to helping those I serve reach a space of relief and comfort in their lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first sessions will include rapport-building and information-gathering. I will provide you space to ask any questions you might have about my therapeutic approach, background, etc. if I do not provide enough information during my explanation of services. The first sessions will also be used for us to set your intentions for treatment and determine how we will evaluate your progress. I always welcome feedback throughout our time together to ensure that the interventions offered are tailored to your specific needs. My priority as your therapist is to provide relief from symptoms, comfort in sharing your story free of judgment, and make you an expert in therapeutic skills so that you can practice these independently and spend more time doing the things you love.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
