Ivy Olcott, LMHC

Psychotherapist
MA
Hello! I'm Ivy. I work with adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety related to vocational, familial, academic, and relational stress; life changes; adjustment disorders; panic disorders; depression; LGBTQ+ issues; and neurodiversity. I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Positive Psychology to help clients achieve their goals. In addition to long-term therapy, I assist clients in clarifying current or more immediate interpersonal issues, conflicts, or situations, and help identify coping strategies through solution-oriented psychotherapy. I strive to engage in collaborative therapeutic relationships by leaving space in sessions to fully hear clients' stories, with the hope of providing tools to navigate life's inevitable fluctuations. I hold a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Lesley University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session is used to get to know one another, clarify your reasons for coming to therapy, gather relevant history, and begin to identify therapeutic goals. My main goal as your therapist is to make sure you walk away from sessions feeling heard. One misconception about therapy is that you will leave feeling immediately "cured" - I want my clients to understand that it's a process, but one that is (hopefully) rewarding and fulfilling.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
