What should a new client know about working with you?

Hello! I provide psychotherapy with a focus on addiction counseling. I believe that a humanistic and unique approach is necessary for each client to attain wellness, so my tendency is to connect you with your emotions, experiences, values, and beliefs to get a better understanding of what the problem is before we can really dig in and start to fix it. I rely on Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered therapy, while drawing from aspects of existential therapy, trauma informed therapy, CBT, and DBT. My goal for our initial sessions (1-3 months) is to build up your coping skills and resources to manage your wellness goal, while helping you maintain the changes you want to make.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Typically, completing a 5-10 minute phone call is preferred to work out scheduling an initial session, as well as get an idea of your goals for therapy. I'd look to schedule you within the next 1-2 weeks for an initial admission assessment, then meet afterwards on a weekly or biweekly basis. I do not provide medication management or provide medical care, my specialty is individual 60-minute talk therapy sessions.
