Getting to know Jaclyn Bobinski

Welcome! I have often been excitedly told by prior clients that I'm "different" from previous therapists they have worked with and that they feel comfortable with me-and trust me-quickly. I also believe that I am different from the "traditional" or "stereotypical" therapist in many ways! This could be because I am less "formal" or "buttoned up," creating a relaxed environment, and my sense of humility puts others at ease in an environment that can often feel very vulnerable and intimidating. Your feelings of comfort and emotional safety are my number one priority as we begin to build our therapeutic relationship. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University Chicago, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My strongest areas of expertise include trauma (simple & complex), depression, and anxiety. However, these are not the only needs that I address. I am very passionate about working with LGTBQIA+ individuals & have experience working with clients who identify as transgender, gay, bisexual, pansexual, nonbinary, and gender fluid.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is integrative as I tailor treatment to your individual needs by using techniques from a variety of different therapeutic models. I most often use techniques from CBT, CPT, & REBT but also draw from body-focused/somatic approaches, ACT, mindfulness, IFS & the flash technique. I am always working from a trauma-informed & culturally sensitive lens.
