He earned both his Bachelor's degree and Master's in Social Work from Illinois State University. In addition to his years of experience as a therapist, Jake has a diverse background in education and the corporate environment, giving him unique insight into these sectors. He is committed to providing his clients with tools and strategies and absolutely believes that life can get better. In treatment, Jake uses a combination of CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He enjoys working with clients experiencing Anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and Depression. Jake has a strong clinical interest in the treatment of OCD and is trained by the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) in the implementation of ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention). He also has experience working with teens who struggle with behaviors, controlling strong emotions, and those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Jake works collaboratively with his clients to identify goals and ways they would like to improve their lives. He also strongly believes in homework between sessions, as practicing skills is essential for clients to experience growth. In his free time, Jake enjoys taking care of his lawn, garden, and koi pond, listening to history, mystery, and mental health podcasts, spending time with friends and family, and playing video games.
