Getting to know Jacquelyn Feliciano
Originally from New Jersey, I recently moved to the Hampton Roads area and could not be happier. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of settings. I am passionate about working individually with children and young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, adjusting to life changes, engaging in negative self-talk, or experiencing relationship difficulties.
We all face life challenges and sometimes need the support of others to overcome them. My goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship through authenticity, active listening, trust, and honesty, and to provide a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel empowered to tackle the challenges they face. I work from a strengths-based perspective and utilize different treatment strategies to meet the needs of my clients. In sessions, I work with clients to uncover the root of the problem and guide them in learning new coping skills and adopting more effective thought patterns to enhance their overall well-being, independence, and happiness.
