Getting to know Jade Vega

I currently have no regular evening availability, but plenty of daytime openings through the week. My background includes extensive work in various settings, from schools to inpatient facilities, giving me a unique perspective on mental health support. I believe in being authentic and bringing my whole self to our therapeutic relationship, including my sense of humor when appropriate. My commitment is to walk alongside you on your journey, growing and learning together as we work toward your goals. I specialize in working with LGBT+ and gender non-conforming individuals, as well as people on the autism spectrum. My experience in these areas allows me to provide individualized support that acknowledges the unique challenges faced by these communities. Transgender and gender diverse clients often navigate complex emotional landscapes, including issues related to identity, acceptance, and societal pressures. I am committed to creating a safe and affirming therapeutic environment where you can explore your gender identity and expression without judgment. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and expressive arts techniques to help clients address emotional challenges, build meaningful connections, and foster personal growth. Whether you're seeking support for identity exploration, relationship dynamics, or emotional regulation, my approach emphasizes collaboration, authenticity, and respect for your lived experiences. Together, we will work toward your goals in a way that honors your individuality and strengths. I help you develop effective strategies to manage overwhelming emotions and build a compassionate relationship with all parts of yourself. My approach also incorporates trauma-informed expressive arts techniques, creating multiple pathways for healing and self-discovery. Contact me to begin your journey toward emotional well-being. I provide services in Maryland and Virginia, offering a safe, confidential space.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect to come away from sessions knowing that you have an empathetic, caring, and down to earth therapist that wants to meet you wherever you are, and who believes in your ability to grow. I will answer any of your questions to the best of my ability, work collaboratively with you to address concerns when they arise, and be thankful for the opportunity to work with you. I believe wholeheartedly in the therapeutic process and understand the importance of providing a safe space in order to facilitate this. I have heard too many stories over the years of people having encountered disconnected, uncaring, or otherwise emotionally unavailable therapists and I strive to be present and to hold space for all of my clients.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Honestly the most thoughtful and kind therapist I have met to date. She clearly thinks and cares about her clients outside of her sessions and her willingness to adapt to my needs means the world to me.
Jade has taught me many coping skills and some have worked really well. She's willing to play games with me to help me feel calm during sessions.
Jade is a real gem. You can tell that she cares deeply about her clients, and is very in tune with how to make others feel safe and not judged. It is easier to work on myself when I know I don’t have to be ashamed of where I’m at.
Jade has been working with my daughter for several months now and she is so amazing. My daughter feels so comfortable with her and has really been able to get a hold of how to manage her anxiety. She trusts Jade and I am so grateful that she is in my daughter's life. I highly recommend her!!
