Jake Weinraub, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am passionate about helping people create more moments where they truly surprise themselves for the better, whether by achieving something they didn't think possible, reacting more positively and productively to life's experiences, or reconnecting with their innate resiliency. With a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, Marriage, and Family Therapy from Antioch University – Los Angeles, I am especially interested in challenging the normative conventions we've been socialized by our families or the culture at large to follow (particularly as LGBTQ+ individuals). I support clients as they begin to create a more meaningful and fulfilling day-to-day life on their own terms. Witnessing these transformative moments is incredibly rewarding and drives my dedication to this work.

Getting to know Jake Weinraub

I am passionate about helping people create more moments where they truly surprise themselves for the better, whether by achieving something they didn't think possible, reacting more positively and productively to life's experiences, or reconnecting with their innate resiliency. With a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, Marriage, and Family Therapy from Antioch University – Los Angeles, I am especially interested in challenging the normative conventions we've been socialized by our families or the culture at large to follow (particularly as LGBTQ+ individuals). What is your typical process for working with clients?

I utilize a client-centered approach, which means that although I am there to inquire, educate and guide, I believe my clients are the experts on themselves, their history, and ultimately what approach will work best for them. I love to help clients draw on their existing strengths and begin to challenge the stories they tell themselves about how things "always go" or what is "possible"; I approach my work with lightheartedness, optimism and without judgement, which to me creates the most supportive environment for growth.
