A Navy veteran, Dr. Agyei has worked extensively with military families as a Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC) and as an Embedded Mental Health Provider with the US Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.
Dr. Agyei earned his BA in History from the University of Ghana and his MSW with a clinical concentration from Norfolk State University. He went on to complete a PhD in Counseling and Psychological Studies from Regent University, with a focus on Addiction Counseling. His doctoral research explored "Mental Health Literacy Among African American Clergy," underscoring his commitment to culturally informed mental health advocacy. In his clinical work, he employs evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), specializing in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), trauma, depression, anxiety, marital and family conflict, substance abuse, and other co-occurring disorders.
