James Henkhaus, LMHC

Psychotherapist
MA
Hi there, I'm James! I am James Henkhaus, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Massachusetts. I work both in person near Boston and Brookline and via telehealth. I received my Master's in Counseling from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis in 2022. Since then, I have been dedicated to providing empathetic, effective psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy to help find answers to-and the motivation to address-life's problems. My approach A psychoanalytic approach examines the many aspects of who we are: our histories, our relationships, our hopes and wishes for the future, and the things getting in the way. Talking about and working together to overcome feelings of anxiety, depression, or any other troublesome experiences is the foundation of my work as a therapist. My focus Are you looking for relief from daily struggles, a better understanding of life's obstacles, or motivation to push through it all? Wondering if therapy could be helpful? Therapy is a chance to learn more about yourself, heal past wounds, and in doing so, continue to grow and mature into the greatest version of yourself. My communication style I would describe my style as warm, yet occasionally challenging. My job is foremost to listen and ask questions. Helping people feel comfortable and curious about themselves is the best way to begin addressing some of the struggles we experience and moving toward growth and fulfillment.
