Getting to know Jamie Sheets

Hi there, I'm Jamie! I am passionate about creating a therapeutic connection with my clients, no matter the background. I have spent 10 years working in various treatment settings and love to listen intently. I have 2 cats and have found healing through animals and nature especially. I am very open minded and want you to feel supported with your unique life journey. My focus I have a special interest, both personally and professionally, for those learning how to navigate the world with Autism and/or ADHD. I want to provide a caring space for people with bipolar and schizophrenia, where you feel supported. I welcome any court involved people. Anxiety and addiction support, as well. My approach I utilize a strength- based approach while highlighting various thought patterns, challenging distressing thoughts, and identifying potential obstacles or solutions- while also validating your real- life experience, as you see it through eyes and feel it through your body. We all deserve to be heard and felt "seen" and I strive to do that for you! My communication style I have been described by past supervisors as being "even- keeled" and I strive to provide a calm, compassionate, sensory friendly experience. We can take things slow to allow time for verbal processing or get right to the "thick of it." I routinely check in with clients on progress with goals and welcome any feedback or ideas. My journey to mental healthcare I received my MSW from Florida Atlantic University, specializing in Addiction. I have previously provided ABA therapy for Autism and ADHD for infants to adults. My provider journey started as a mental health tech in crisis stabilization centers, then case manager, mobile crisis, jail and hospital mental health and then community MH therapist.
