Getting to know Jamila T. Hankins

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Georgia focused on providing services to individuals and families. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Work from Springfield College and a PhD in Social Work: Policy, Planning, and Administration. With over 10 years of experience, I have provided clinical services to children, teens, and families. My career began by helping children and families within community mental health settings as well as those involved in the child welfare system. My clients present with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder. I have also worked with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse. I believe in a humanistic, person-centered, cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, where the focus is on helping clients develop a stronger sense of self within a non-judgmental therapeutic setting. I am a proponent of addressing factors that contribute to the healing of the spirit, mind, and body. I am happy that you have taken the first step in your healing process, and I look forward to working with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to create a safe nonjudgmental therapeutic space where my clients feel heard. The first session is usually dedicated to establishing rapport and learning about the factors that contributed to clients taking the first step in their healing process. I want clients to feel as sense of peace, achievement and increased self-confidence after each session.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Very professional and helpful. Provided extended resources in areas of service that she wasn’t able to provide us with on her own. Great listener and communicated really good with both parents and child. Thanks for all of your help.
