Jamula Taylor, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello, I'm Jamula (Jamalah) Taylor, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix in 2014. I have worked in various programs to gain diverse experiences, including working with individual males in California Corrections, women who were victims of domestic violence, adults with severe mental illnesses, as well as individuals, adolescents, and children. My therapy style can be perceived as laid-back, but it's mostly due to being authentic and allowing clients to be authentic. In some cases, I can be direct, but mostly once the rapport is built. I also allow the client to lead and direct therapy depending on the severity of the presenting problem. I enjoy solution-focused therapy, cognitive therapy, psychoanalytic approaches, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help individuals find solutions to many issues. I began my journey to become a therapist while in high school, inspired by people seeking support. Throughout this journey, I made an effort to obtain multiple experiences with people from diverse backgrounds.
