Hi there, I'm JaNae! Hello, I'm Dr. JaNaé. I am the founder of Taylor Counseling and Consulting Services. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, holding licenses in both Virginia and Georgia. I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology and MEd in Community Counseling from the University of Georgia. I have worked with clients in a variety of settings, ranging from pediatric hospitals, juvenile justice systems, assisted living facilities, women’s homeless shelters, community mental health agencies, and school and college counseling centers. My approach I pride myself on fostering an environment of healing, clarity, and direction through the power of healthy connection. I emphasize a strengths-based approach to treatment, as I acknowledge the unique qualities of every human being. I provide my clients with a healthy space to foster a sense of purpose, unity, self-respect, and determination. Among the modalities I use are interpersonal, solution-focused, and narrative therapy. My focus I work with a wide range of mental and behavioral issues including chronic pain, anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma. The life issues people face are also an important part of my practice: healthy relationships, race-based offenses, cultural identity development, gender identity development, workplace wellness, and social and diversity issues. I am committed to serving the Black community by providing culturally responsive services. My communication style The decision to seek counseling services can be difficult and scary, especially when thinking about sharing the most painful parts of your life with others. In our work together, we will work through the hurt to create a new understanding and implement new solutions. The ultimate goal of this work is for you to feel more connected, stronger, and healthier. We want our clients to feel valued, supported, and able to carry out their most sacred life goals.
