Getting to know Janelle Hoover-Pollock

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by life and the pressures of day-to-day responsibilities? Sometimes these feelings stem from current stressors or past traumas. I empower people to overcome the challenges of daily life as well as the toll and burden of carrying the weight of the past. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. I specialize in working with trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. I help people identify and understand what healthy and unhealthy relationships look like. I also work with individuals facing depression, anxiety, parent-child relationship issues, marital conflict, general stress, and dissociative disorders. I utilize various treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused treatment. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Winthrop University. Through therapy, you can discover a place of empowerment and strength. I look forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, I will provide support as treatment goals are established and a plan to meet those treatment goals. We will use the sessions to work towards your therapy goals utilizing various methods in sessions. We can work on coping strategies to manage day to day stressors or work on processing past traumas. Sessions progress at your comfort level so you feel safe and secure in session.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
