Janese Schaffner-Hubbard, MS, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I am JaNese Hubbard, licensed as an LPCC in California. I enjoy working with teens and adults who are looking to connect and discover their best authentic self. I value teamwork and enjoy collaborating to find solutions to current or ongoing challenges. As an adoptive parent, I understand the dynamics involved, as well as the impact adoption can have on children. I earned my Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University. My therapeutic approach is individualized but often incorporates CBT and behavioral modification. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, and chronic illness. My communication style is to listen carefully, treat you with respect, and meet you where you are each time we meet. Some days we may dive into working on goals, and other days we may simply connect and process life. From a young age, I was drawn to people and enjoyed learning about their lives. I initially worked in Workers' Compensation but realized it was not my passion. I then moved to a foster care agency, where working with teens and parents became my true calling. Over the last 22 years, I have worked at an agency providing behavior modification and parent training. I became a therapist in 2014 after working with children with intellectual disabilities, anxiety, and autism, wanting to open up more possibilities. Goals are set by the client. During our first session, I gather information you feel is helpful to begin the process of change.
