“he is very kind, patient, and upbeat without being insensitive to my son's anxiety. Jarad frequently allowed my son to run long and get through what was on his mind, even while it ate into Jarad's time. Jarad is a guy who cares and it really comes through”

Getting to know Jarad Sanchez

Hello! My name is Jarad, and I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. My specialty and passion are working with children and families experiencing conflict. My approach I like for my clients to see me as a guide more than anything. This approach has allowed me to work successfully with children and families, as well as with highly motivated adults experiencing stress, sadness, anxiety, and those ready to make change. My focus My particular specialty is working with parents and children to resolve in-home conflict and unwanted behaviors, as well as helping children and adults process grief, trauma, stress, and anxiety. My communication style I think sometimes we can be overly critical of ourselves. Often, we have very good reasons for feeling sad, disappointed, or unhappy. My experience is that if we can be compassionate about being human and having real feelings, and if we're open to learning new skills and seeking new opportunities, just about any emotional distress can be resolved. Therapy can be scary. Being vulnerable isn't always easy. I try to be as casual as possible when we're speaking. I rarely use jargon or therapist speak. I probably won't focus on a diagnosis in session unless it's helpful. My journey to therapy Before becoming a licensed clinical social worker, I worked in education and education policy for almost six years. I helped open schools and pass state and local laws to support children in their educational journey. What was missing for me, however, was knowing how to support children whose mental health needs were unmet. We could build beautiful schools and have amazing teachers, but if a child experienced trauma, had a death in the family, or had parents going through a divorce, I often found myself at a loss as to what to do. This realization sparked my journey into exploring mental health.

Jared has been incredibly helpful for my son. I was initially hesitant about my 6-year-old participating in virtual sessions, but Jared has exceeded my expectations. He has been fantastic at connecting with my son and using effective tools that have had a positive impact on him.
