Hello, I'm Jarretta. I am a licensed therapist with an MSW, and I have dedicated the past nine years to working for a non-profit organization that supports survivors of childhood sexual abuse. My journey in therapy has been deeply rooted in helping individuals overcome the impacts of trauma, including PTSD symptoms, intimacy issues, trust, boundaries, and difficulties in relationships and assertive communication. I am trained in EMDR and have extensive experience working with childhood trauma, substance abuse treatment programs, and incarcerated populations. Growing up in a military family, I had the unique opportunity to live in various interesting places, which fostered my respect and love for different cultures, traditions, and people. This background has significantly influenced my approach to therapy, as I am passionate about understanding and connecting with people from all walks of life. In my practice, I specialize in anger management, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, grief and bereavement, intimate and romantic relationships, PTSD, sex and intimacy issues, stress, and trauma. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth sessions for those who prefer or require remote therapy. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy playing Wordle and watching Jeopardy because I have a passion for trivia. I also have a deep love for animals and was known for bringing home stray animals to care for. This compassion and dedication to caring for others have seamlessly translated into my work as a therapist, where I strive to facilitate growth and empower those who feel helpless, hopeless, and unloved due to trauma and its impacts.
