What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a supportive, down-to-earth, and collaborative environment. I believe that therapy should be practical and meaningful, offering tools you can actually use in everyday life—not just insight, but real strategies that help you move forward. My style is warm, compassionate, and honest. I bring over 15 years of clinical experience to our sessions, along with a deep respect for your unique story, strengths, and goals. I view therapy as a partnership: you bring your experiences, challenges, and hopes, and I bring guidance, evidence-based strategies, and encouragement to help you create meaningful change. My approach combines several effective methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, the Person-Centered Approach, and Solution-Focused Therapy. What this means in practice is that I will help you explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and support you in making small, manageable changes that align with your values and goals. I also incorporate present-moment awareness and strengths-based strategies to help you feel more grounded, capable, and empowered. Sessions are tailored to you. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, navigating a life transition, working on relationships, or just feeling stuck, we’ll set clear goals and work together at a pace that feels comfortable yet productive. I’m also trained in play therapy and family systems work, which supports my work with children, families, and couples. You’ll find that I am easy to talk to, non-judgmental, and genuinely invested in your progress. My goal is to help you feel seen and heard—and to help you discover the tools and insights that move you closer to the life you want.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we begin working together, I start by meeting you exactly where you are—emotionally, mentally, and situationally. The first few sessions focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship, understanding your story, identifying your goals, and exploring what’s working and what feels stuck. From there, we collaborate on a plan that includes small, realistic, and practical steps tailored to your unique needs. My process is grounded in mutual honesty, trust, and respect. I believe that meaningful change happens when both client and therapist are open, curious, and committed to the process. You don’t need to have all the answers when you come in—just a willingness to explore, reflect, and try new strategies. I’m here to support and guide you, not to judge or push you beyond what feels manageable. Each session typically includes time to check in, reflect on progress or struggles since the last session, and focus on whatever is most relevant for you in the moment. Sometimes we work on developing new skills or coping strategies; other times we may talk through difficult emotions or patterns that keep showing up in your life. Sessions are structured, yet flexible—designed to support your goals and adapt as your needs evolve. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Person-Centered Approach. These methods help us look at the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while emphasizing your strengths and building confidence. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship issues, or life transitions, we’ll work together to find clarity and create movement. My goal is to help you feel supported, empowered, and capable of making the changes that matter most to you.

More information on payments and coverage

I aim to make the payment and insurance process as smooth and transparent as possible so you can focus on your care. I am in-network with several major insurance plans, and if your insurance is one I accept, you’ll only be responsible for your co-pay or deductible at the time of service. I bill directly through a secure platform called Headway, which handles insurance claims and billing on my behalf, so you don’t have to worry about the paperwork. If I’m not in-network with your insurance provider, you still have the option to work with me. In that case, you would pay the full session fee upfront at the time of service. After your session, you’ll receive a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company. Depending on your out-of-network benefits, your insurance may reimburse you directly for a portion of the cost. It’s a good idea to contact your insurance provider before we start working together so you can confirm your mental health coverage, including whether I am in-network and what your co-pay, deductible, or out-of-network benefits might be. Headway can also help verify your benefits when scheduling. I understand that navigating insurance and payment can be overwhelming, so I’m happy to answer any questions you have about the process. My goal is to make therapy as accessible and stress-free as possible. If you're concerned about affordability or have questions about your coverage, feel free to reach out—we can talk through your options and find a plan that works for you. Ultimately, I want your experience—both clinically and administratively—to feel smooth, respectful, and supportive. Let’s work together to make sure you get the care you need.
